Need More Sleep November
I don’t know about you but these last few weeks have kicked my butt. Between illnesses, Halloween events, the time change (and children who have no concept of it), the supermoon that I didn’t think would affect me but I’m pretty sure has, and the passing of my grandfather this week, your girl is TIRED. As my husband says, “Sleep when you’re dead.”
That joke seems ill-timed. Except my grandfather would agree. He turned 83 in August and rode motorcycles until last year. He was a veteran, an incredible mechanical engineer, a talented motorcycle rider who was always organizing trail rides and participating in races, and a believer in helping those less fortunate. Because of his diagnosis with a form of ALS, one of his last wishes was to donate his brain to scientific research, and for that I’m not sure I could be any more proud or moved. Even my pen surname is a reflection of him, coming from a story he shared about his grandfather fleeing Germany and the original spelling of his last name.
I could go on and on about his life, as well as his father’s, honestly, but this issue isn’t about them. I will say that every time I have a loss, I’m reminded of the fleetingness of life and how important it is to enjoy every bit of it that you can. So I’m ok with sleeping less, taking in way more coffee (like I need an excuse), and soaking up every minute I can with my family. It also prompted me to commit to an event next year that I’ve been on the fence about because it’s a risk, for the simple fact that I get to meet people in real life who are important to me in this community. Hopefully, you can do something you love this weekend. Maybe something you’ve been putting off, or that you feel guilty prioritizing. Choose happiness.
Voting is live!
All year I’ve mentioned the Indieverse Awards and the time has finally come to cast your votes! Voting should take about ten to fifteen minutes if you participate in all three categories. Make sure to read the details before starting. Some of my favorite bookish nominees are Stacey LP, Spill the Spice Podcast, and The Crafty Bookstore. Results will be shared in December.
Hello, McCoy & Erin!
As promised, here are the MCs for Untamed! I can’t wait to tell you more about them. They’re the youngest couple I’ve written and that I have planned. Trope and cover reveal will be coming soon. It’s hard to keep it under wraps but I want to button up a few things before sharing!

Bookish Spotlights
Indie Match Bookshop

If you love supporting indie authors and you love, or have been interested in, blind dates with a book, you NEED to check out Indie Match Bookshop. You can stay updated with new offerings on Instagram. The goal of Indie Match Bookshop is to pair readers with books they wouldn’t normally pick up or be aware of, based on their preferred categories and tropes. And ALL of the authors featured are indie authors. There are also a ton of goodies thrown in, including book specific bracelets. And if all of those reasons aren’t enough, the owner is just about the biggest supporter of indies and all around one of the best people I’ve had the chance to meet in the book community.
Coming Soon!
The third installment of Hannah Brixton’s Lennox Valley Chronicles is releasing November 11th! Sweet Caroline is a fake dating, opposites attract romance told in dual POV, with an ADHD rep.
